PE Vision Statement
At St Minver School we have a strong belief that active children are happy children, and happy children are effective learners. We believe the academic success that our children achieve throughout the school, and the positive relationships they develop with their peers and others, is greatly impacted by the many opportunities they have to lead an active and healthy lifestyle through taking part in high quality P.E. lessons and extra-curricular activities.
A large body of research confirms that children who are provided with positive experiences of sport at a primary school age are much more likely to lead active and healthy lifestyles later in life. At St Minver School we consider our role in providing these positive experiences vital to the children's wellbeing, throughout their time at St Minver and beyond into the future. Our P.E. curriculum contributes to healthy and active lifestyles and also helps improve children’s emotional well-being and develop their confidence, as well as key skills such as leadership and team building.
At St Minver we aim to ensure that all pupils develop physical literacy and the fundamental knowledge, understanding and skills to achieve in a wide range of physical activities. We do this by providing a broad & balanced curriculum with opportunities for all.
